Instagrammable Cafes & Restaurants in Mexico City

Mexico City has an abundance of amazing restaurants and coffee shops. No wonder I spent most of my time there eating! Lucky for me, the food there is not only insanely good, but also beautifully presented, and all the restaurants we went to were beautiful and gram-worthy. Here is the list of ALL the places I visited and photographed. I’d absolutely return to all of them next time I’m in the city!

Rosetta

Address: Colima 179, Roma Nte., Cuauhtémoc, 06700 Ciudad de México, CDMX

Have you truly experienced Mexico City if you haven’t enjoyed a meal at Rosetta? This restaurant located in a colonial-era mansion in Mexico City’s Roma district has become an Instagram classic. You’ve probably seen photos of this interior pop in on your feed a few times. Their menu is inspired by Mediterranean cuisine, but all food is cooked with only local and seasonal ingredients.

cuchi condesa

Address: 06100, Av Nuevo León 120, Colonia Condesa, Cuauhtémoc, 06700 Ciudad de México, CDMX

Brunch with a side of pink! This spot is brand-new and incredibly cute!

tomasa

Address: Calle Atlixco 74, Colonia Condesa, Cuauhtémoc, 06140 Ciudad de México, CDMX

Tomasa is a bakery specializing in conchas, which are traditional Mexican sweet bread rolls. They are sooo soft and fluffy! And with so many different options it’s hard to choose just one.

cafe milou

Address: Av. Veracruz 38, Roma Nte., Cuauhtémoc, 06700 Ciudad de México, CDMX

This petite brasserie located on quiet Condesa street offers a small but delicious menu of classic French dishes. It’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and you can easily spend all day in this cozy space.

puerto prendes

Address: Calle de Durango 175, Roma Nte., Cuauhtémoc, 06700 Ciudad de México, CDMX

One of the prettiest restaurants in Mexico City! My friend and I found this little oasis by accident and knew right away we had to return there for dinner—one we truly enjoyed!

filigrana

Address: Av. Veracruz 62, Roma Nte., Cuauhtémoc, 06700 Ciudad de México, CDMX

I can’t get enough of this stunning interior with a huge tree growing in the atrium-like dining room, beautiful tiles, and so much natural light. Their talented barista came up to our table to demonstrate his latte-making skills. He knew we were taking photos and he did a great job. Loved this place!

cicatriz cafe

Address: Calle Dinamarca 44, Cuauhtémoc, 06600 Ciudad de México, CDMX

Cicatriz is an all-day cafe that transitions into a hip bar at night. It’s a great spot for high-quality coffee, delicious comfort food and pastries, and evening cocktails.

Zanaya

Adsress: Av. Paseo de la Reforma 500, Juárez, Cuauhtémoc, 06600 Ciudad de México, CDMX

Located inside Mexico City’s Four Seasons hotel, Zanaya is one of the prettiest restaurants in Mexico City. There you’ll find innovative Mexican Pacific cuisine with the freshest seafood and local produce. A meal at Zanaya is an experience filled with so many unique flavors. I recommend ordering their smoky dessert: Zarandeado Banana with Coffee Ice Cream—so yummy, and the presentation is stunning!

palmares azotea

Address: Calle de Durango 216, Roma Nte., Cuauhtémoc, 06700 Ciudad de México, CDMX

This place has a great terrace overlooking the city—a perfect spot for a warm sunny day. Their menu features small plates and bites ideal for sharing.

Lardo

Address: Agustín Melgar 6, Colonia Condesa, Cuauhtémoc, 06140 Ciudad de México, CDMX

Lardo is a sister restaurant to previously mentioned Rosetta. Their swoon-worthy interior and amazing food attract a lot of people. Therefore, reservations are recommended! They have an onsite bakery and all of the bread and pastries there are to die for. You can also grab them to go from a takeaway window outside.

nima local house hotel

Address: Colima 236, Roma Nte., Cuauhtémoc, 06700 Ciudad de México, CDMX

Nima Local House is a boutique bed and breakfast with just four rooms located in the Roma district. You don’t have to be a hotel guest to visit them for breakfast at their lush courtyard filled with plants. Just make sure to make a reservation beforehand!

wO barra de cafe

Address: Colima 385, Roma Nte., Cuauhtémoc, 06700 Ciudad de México, CDMX

Another street-side coffee bar. Pop in for a matcha drink or an espresso in a pink cup (so cute!)

chiquitito cafe

Address: Alfonso Reyes 232, Hipódromo, Cuauhtémoc, 06100 Ciudad de México, CDMX

Chiquitito Cafe is a local hip coffee shop joint with possibly the best espresso drinks in the city. We went to the one in Condesa. It’s a tiny neighborhood spot with a few tables inside and outside, which are great for people watching.

Meroma

Address: Colima 150, Roma Nte., Cuauhtémoc, 06700 Ciudad de México, CDMX

With a cocktail bar downstairs, and a stunning dining room and terrace upstairs, Meroma is a hidden gem in Mexico City that serves drool-worthy farm-to-table dishes.

gin gin

Address: Av Oaxaca 87, Roma Nte., Cuauhtémoc, 06700 Ciudad de México, CDMX

High ceilings, brick walls, tiled floors, and leafy plants complement the gorgeous interior of Gin Gin Colonia Roma. Given the name of this place, gin is one of their specialties, and they have a great variety of fun gin cocktails.
