Cottage 29 is located in Tiverton, Rhode Island, only 20 minutes away from Newport. The town of Tiverton dates back to 1694 when it was just a farming community. Today Tiverton is a quaint coastal town with lots of boutique shops, restaurants, and historic homes.

The House

Cottage 29 is a charming little waterfront house with two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, a fully stocked kitchen, and an outdoor porch overlooking the water. This house is quite small, but can fit up to 4 people, and has absolutely everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. You won’t want to leave it!

The decor of the house is a mix of boho and classical coastal style with lots of neutral tones and textures. There were quite a few cozy nooks for curling up with a good book. We were truly blown away by all the small touches and attention to details, like calming classical music playing in the house when we arrived, a pot of hot apple cider waiting for us in the kitchen along with a cupcakes, sugar donuts, fresh apples, and a beautifully-styled cheese board with crackers and grapes!

The pantry was stocked with snacks and all the essentials for making breakfast in the morning. There were fresh flowers in every room, little chocolates by the beds, and bottled water. It felt like we ended up in heaven!

Guests of Cottage 29 have their own water access and are welcome to use the kayaks. If it hadn’t been cold and stormy during our stay, we would have definitely used the kayaks and spent some time on the water. Thankfully, the porch at the back of the cottage has a roof, so we were able to spend a few hours sitting there despite the weather. This was when the hot apple cider came in very handy. It kept us warm and cozy while we watched the rain fall over the ocean.

To this day I think about the bed I slept in at Cottage 29, truly one of the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced. Its duvet was soft and looked like a fluffy cloud. Waking up in that bed to the view and sound of the water was the best feeling ever.

things to do in the area

We only spent one night in Tiverton and ended up not leaving the cottage so we could enjoy our time there to the fullest. If you’re planning a longer visit, here are some recommendations for things to do in the area.

  • Check out local one-of-a-kind shops
  • Visit Fogland Beach (Tiverton Town Beach) and spend a day kayaking, swimming, or wind-surfing.
  • Dine out. The area offers a variety of eateries, including traditional New England clam shacks, cute cafes, and upscale waterfront restaurants. Since you’re by the water, don’t miss out on the opportunity to try fresh seafood.
  • Explore historic Tiverton. Take a walking tour around Tiverton Four Corners, a quintessential New England village full of charm and history.
  • Explore Newport. It’s only a 20-minute car ride away from Tiverton and it’s a must-visit town in New England.

Moor House Cottage 29 exceeded our expectations. Needless to say, it was one of the best Airbnb experiences we’ve ever had! Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway with your significant other, a place to celebrate a special occasion with a few friends, or a place to rest and recharge, this Rhode Island Airbnb will be the perfect spot!
