Where to Stay in Phoenix: Our Favorite Hotels

In the beginning of January, I traveled to Phoenix, Arizona with Visit Phoenix and got to stay at a few different hotels and resorts in the area. Even though I’m not a huge fan of packing and unpacking my suitcase every other day, I’m glad I was able to explore different properties and see what they have to offer.  Here is a quick overview with a few photos from the Phoenix hotels I stayed at – each one of them has its unique features and I would recommend visiting any of them.

JW MARRIOTT PHOENIX DESERT RIDGE

JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge is an upscale hotel offering more than 900 rooms with gorgeous views of the McDowell Mountains. I spent the first two nights in Phoenix there and was in awe of the hotel property – it’s very big and includes tennis courts, golf courses, multiple restaurants, several pools, and a fitness and spa center.  Next time I visit this resort, I’m planning to spend a few hours floating down the lazy river – it looked so fun!

ANDAZ SCOTTSDALE RESORT & SPA

Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa opened last year. It’s very new, modern and design-oriented hotel. Every little detail of this property has been carefully thought through. I loved the mid-century modern bungalow-style rooms with the biggest showers I’ve ever seen, complimentary non-alcoholic beverages and snacks, and a private patio with lounge chairs. The resort also has a lovely restaurant – Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen – that we went to for dinner. It’s a very beautiful place with family-style small-bite gourmet dishes.

FAIRMONT SCOTTSDALE PRINCESS

This was my last home away from home in Arizona! Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is a beautiful hotel with great amenities and wonderful restaurants! My room was very spacious and was overlooked a beautiful garden. I was pleasantly surprised to see toiletries from one of my favorite companies – Le Labo. They smell so good, who wouldn’t like them? On our last day, the girls and I went to Well & Being Spa for a Himalayan Salted Stone massage. It was one of the most relaxing days of my life. The spa complex has a fitness center, rooftop pool, jacuzzi, Swedish dry sauna, and Eucalyptus inhalation room. You could easily spend the entire day there!

As I mentioned, the resort also has several great restaurants. I highly recommend going to La Hacienda, where we went for dinner on our last night in Phoenix.  They are famous for the finest selections of Margaritas and Tequila in all of Arizona and their amazing flaming coffee! Of course, the food there was beyond delicious too.
