Boutique Hotel in New Orleans: The Eliza Jane Hotel

The Eliza Jane is Hyatt’s newest hotel in New Orleans, and it’s located in a building that used to be a print factory just a couple blocks from the French Quarter on Magazine Street. This location couldn’t be more perfect—close enough to the excitement of French Quarter, but far enough from it so you’re not constantly surrounded by noisy crowds and can actually get some rest at night. You can easily walk to a lot of attractions, shops, and restaurants!

I have a thing for beautifully designed hotels, and that is one of the reasons I was so excited to stay at The Eliza Jane. The hotel’s interior showcases the rich history of the building, giving guests a glimpse into centuries-old stories and a feel of old New Orleans charm. I loved the overall aesthetic—a mix of elegance and funkiness. There are so many beautiful details, such as tiled floors, exposed brick, wood beams, and lots of unique artwork.

The Eliza Jane features 196 guest rooms and 50 suites as well as a charming French restaurant Couvat, a chic cocktail bar, and a few other onsite amenities such as a fitness center and meeting rooms. The lobby area has plenty of chairs and sofas in case you want to lounge there or do some work. This is one of those hotels you don’t want, and don’t have, to leave!

The courtyard was one of my favorite areas of the hotel. Decorated with plants, a black-and-white tiled fountain with a neon “Bisous” sign, and a custom sculpture by local artist Brent Barnidge. With lots of seating available, it’s a perfect spot for getting some fresh air or enjoying an evening cocktail.

Couvant

This French brasserie is one of the most beautiful restaurants in New Orleans. It features a stunning oak bar, globe lighting, and mosaic tiles. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Couvant serves french classics such as moules frites, steak frites, and croque madame. We came here for lunch, and I’m still craving the oysters and St-Germain Spritz I had. So good for a hot day in New Orleans! Like the rest of the hotel, the restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing, and the food is outstanding!
