Our Favorite New Orleans Cafes & Restaurants

There are a lot of reasons to visit New Orleans, and food is definitely one of them! Check out this list of our favorite New Orleans cafes and restaurants we visited recently.

copper vine

Address: 1001 Poydras St, New Orleans, LA 70112

Copper Vine is a wine bar in downtown New Orleans with a menu featuring Southern Regional cuisine, a curated cocktail list, and 30 wines to choose from. I loved both the beautiful interior and the outdoor patio surrounded by lush greenery. Such a great spot to escape the hustle and bustle of the city! This was definitely one of the best meals I had in NOLA!

mammoth espresso

Address: 821 Baronne St, New Orleans, LA 70113

We simply can’t visit a new city without exploring its coffee shop scene. So happy we stumbled upon Mammoth Espresso, a modern coffeehouse serving espresso drinks and baked goods supplied by Scout Bakery. And yes, we had to take a photo of their beautiful tiled floor!

cafe beignet

Address: 334 Royal St, New Orleans, LA 70130

Can you truly claim to have experienced New Orleans if you didn’t get some freshly-baked beignets with Cafe Au Late from Cafe Beignet? We visited this spot several times. Not only is it absolutely charming on the outside (a classic NOLA photo opportunity you don’t want to miss), but it also has lots of seating inside, amazing food, and live music at night. And their beignets are to die for!

stumptown coffee at ace hotel

Address: 610 Carondelet St, New Orleans, LA 70130

Stumptown Coffee Roasters is one of our favorite coffee shop chains, so of course, we had to visit the one in New Orleans. It never disappoints! They always serve high-quality coffee, offering the perfect spot to start the day or grab a quick afternoon pick-me-up.

Jack Rose Restaurant

Address: 2031 St Charles Ave, New Orleans, LA 70130

Jack Rose was named Best Hotel Restaurant by the readers of USA Today. It’s such a hip and fun spot worth visiting for a Cajun-Creole meal or just drinks. The plants, wall art, and whimsical decor provide endless opportunities for great Instagram shots.

The vintage nOLA

Address: 3121 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70115

This chic all-day cafe/bar looks like it’s been around for ages! You’ll fall in love with the Parisian-style decor, including a black and white tiled floor, leather banquettes, mirrors on the wall, and lots of vintage-looking lamp fixtures. There’s plenty of seating inside if you’re interested in working from there or hanging out with friends. You can come in the morning for coffee and delicious beignets or at night for cocktails and bar bites. This place truly has it all!

cavan

Address: 3607 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70115

Set in an old historic house on Magazine Street, Cavan is one of Garden District’s most popular restaurants. Here you’ll find an East Coast-inspired menu along with some traditional southern dishes. Cavan has a nice outdoor patio, but I prefer the main dining room on the first floor. It’s rustic and charming with pink velvet chairs, beautiful chandeliers, and distressed walls.

the elysian bar

Address: 2317 Burgundy St, New Orleans, LA 70117

The Elysian Bar is a part of Peter and Paul, a church that was converted into a 71-room hotel that I’m hoping to stay in next time I’m in New Orleans! You just have to come experience this uniquely gorgeous hotel with a lovely coffee shop area, sunroom, bar, and stunning courtyard. The food and cocktails here are fantastic, and their happy hour is definitely worth checking out.

cafe bon ami

Address: 822 Perdido St e, New Orleans, LA 70112

Another lovely New Orleans cafe we stumbled upon one morning, located in the historic Factor’s Row building in New Orleans. It’s modern and clean inside—a great spot for grabbing a quick bite.

couvant

Address: 315 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70130

One of the most beautiful restaurants in New Orleans, Couvant is a French brasserie that features a stunning oak bar, globe lighting, and mosaic tiles. It’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and serves french classics such as moules frites, steak frites, and croque madame. We came here for lunch, and I’m still craving the oysters and St-Germain Spritz I had. Such a perfect combo for a hot day!

That’s it for now! We have many, many more places we hope to visit in New Orleans the next time we’re there, and we will most definitely share them with you!
